1. Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.

This is a great day, not just for Joe, but for all of DF.

Joe has reached 10,000 profile views.

I'd like to commemorate this occasion by posing the question, why am I so popular?

How do I do it. What is it that I do?

All deep questions I'm sure people are eager to discuss.

Comments

  1. Phenoxide
We probably should get Alfa to check how many of those were self-views.
  2. malsat
Ah, half of those don't count because I've been spying on you pretty intensely for the past month. I'm probably going to fail my exams because of it. But it will be worth it when all the pieces fall into place and I win this war for the moral future of DF.
  3. Joe-(5-HTP)
    You can't add self-views phenoxide.

Phenoxide has hidden his profile page views somehow. Need I imply more?

Malsat, my page views have risen steadily since forever. It's not down to your stalking. Only my huge popularity can explain it. The question is why I am so popular. You guys are off-topic. Reported.
  4. Alfa
Did it really take you all those years to discover that I manually added these to the system? I was messing with you a few years back. The real number of views (not counting your own is 43. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Alfa I have tried to add page views to myself many times. Your tricks will not work. I know what reality is and who I am. I think... :s

Nice try PH but you can't troll a troll. PH has a mere 8500 page views. Need I say more about his motivations? No I need not!

Once more you are all off topic. This is about my popularity and greatness. Shit aint cool.

you could write a book to help school those of us that wish to follow in you footsteps, and if you would be up for taking on a protégé , allow me to submit a request for mentoring.

Thank you for your consideration on this matter..
  8. Joe-(5-HTP)
    Like.. a bible? And desciples?

Joe is above such religious schemes.

When anyone asks me the way, I tell them, this is my way, where is yours? As for 'the way', that does not exist.
  9. beentheredonethatagain
Ok Joe. I shall not question your ways again. I do not pretend to understand, but I at least understand that I do not understand.

Apologies for making a mess. But these things I do.
  10. Joe-(5-HTP)
No problem BTDTA, no1 is perfect.

    Except The Joe.
  11. beentheredonethatagain
Hey somebody is screwing with me because I did Not write that last post
  12. Joe-(5-HTP)
huh. must be them modz up to their usual tricks.

Can't trust the mods, as demonstrated by their input in this thread and their vandalization of your post.

I'm thinking that your popularity is much like that of the infamous U.S. radio DJ Howard Stern. Not sure if you saw Private Parts, the movie, or not, but here's a quote that may help to understand your own popularity better:

Researcher: The average radio listener listens for eighteen minutes. The average Howard Stern fan listens for - are you ready for this? - an hour and twenty minutes.

Pig Vomit: How can that be?

Researcher: Answer most commonly given? "I want to see what he'll say next."

Pig Vomit: Okay, fine. But what about the people who hate Stern?

Researcher: Good point. The average Stern hater listens for two and a half hours a day.

Pig Vomit: But... if they hate him, why do they listen?

Researcher: Most common answer? "I want to see what he'll say next."

    Ring any bells, Joe?

By the way--Congratulations on being undoubtedly the MOST popular member (that is not Alfa or a Mod) on DF!!! We love you, Joe!

I guess you polarize subtle nuances pertaining to human condition in a manner that is provocative.? And talk about yourself in 3rd person. Definitely that last one.
  15. Joe-(5-HTP)
So I'm popular because.. I talk about myself in the 3rd person?

Ur gonna have to disguise your jealousy with a better excuse than that psyche!

*has a stroll over to psyche's profile.. 384 views.. oh dear, that says it all.*

    ^_^
  16. psyche
Is my deep jealousy that obvious? I shall go away and forever question why I thought I could stand up against the might and majesty of The Joe.
  17. Joe-(5-HTP)
Do not be too hard on yourself psyche. Such is the expected recklesness jealousy can drive a human to.

Funny things do happen to comments here. Well, I lock my first answer. That is I think is what you do.
  19. Joe-(5-HTP)
Well that's interesting. First you said it was 'definitely' the second one, now you say you 'lock' the first one.

How can you expect people to put faith in your certainty when it seems to shift so easily!
  20. psyche
Yeah I was joking, was not entirely clear on that.. guess you knew though.
