    In recent days, eleven tons of drugs such as marijuana, heroin, peyote and methamphetamine in the towns of Sonoita, Nogales and Agua Prieta, have been destroyed.

    These cremations are carried out by staff of the Attorney General's Office and military, who as part of efforts to prevent drug dealing and addiction, set fire to the narcotics.

    The first "burn" was held at the ranch "El Belloto", located in Nogales, Sonora, where it began to burn in the flames 3 tons, 302 kilos of pot and 11 kilos, 300 grams of methamphetamine.

    Later a military garrison city of Agua Prieta was destroyed in the same way a ton of marijuana and 916 kilos, 445 grams of methamphetamine.

    The town of Sonoita where there was more work, because it burned 6 tons 525 kg of marijuana, a kilo, 750 grams of heroin, and 2 kilos of peyote.

    Almost two tons of narcotics were burned this morning at the premises of the National Fair Potosina.

    Among the drug burned by the Attorney General's Office included mostly marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines and peyote.

    The event was attended by Commander of Military Zone Twelfth, Arturo Gutiérrez García, Colonel 34 Infantry Battalion, Zepeda Rodríguez Moctezuma, the state coordinator of the Federal Police, Israel Zaragoza Rico, the state attorney general, Candido Ochoa Rojas, Secretary of Security Public Heliodoro Guerrero, and the Chairman of the Municipal Public Participation, Juan Felipe Sanchez Rocha.

    It explained that a total of 1 ton and 670 kilos burned of marijuana, 2 kilos and 447 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, 2 kilos and 700 grams of methamphetamine, 802 grams of peyote, 19 kilos and 638 grams of marijuana seeds, 214 tablets of methamphetamine, 399 psychotropic pills and two marijuana plants.

    Interesting about the seeds, its not to often you here about massive confiscations of that nature. 40+ lbs of pot seeds is an awful lot.

    Agreed, but is it bad I immediately assumed the seeds were the by-product of their crap marijuana and not purposefully bred strains? So I can't really feel like it's a huge loss.

    Unlike the destroyed mass amounts of slow growing, mature and rare peyote. :mad:

    The peyote part also bring sadness to my heart, to some people it's a sacred plant. This is a crazy amount of drugs though.

    Why not give the peyote to the native american church, I mean they are running a bit low and it just seems so wastefull and wrong to destroy an endangered species.
