46 kgs of hashish recovered, two arrested
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 46 kilograms of hashish and arrested two persons during checking on Fatehjang Road, official sources said on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, the ANF high-ups constituted teams. They barricaded various points on Fatehjang and GT roads. They intercepted a Suzuki Mehran car, bearing registration number STD-7103, near Fatehjang interchange and recovered 25 kilograms of hashish concealed in the petrol tank. The car driver, identified as Ghani Shah, son of Fazal Shah, belonging to Peshawar, was taken into custody.
In the meantime, the team signalled another Suzuki Mehran car (PRJ-3100), following the first one. However its driver tried to escape from the scene. Members of the team chased the car and intercepted it one kilometre from the barrier. The team searched the car and recovered 21 kilograms of hashish concealed in secret cavities. Its driver, Naqab Khan, son of Hashim Khan, belonging to Peshawar, was arrested. A loaded pistol was also recovered from his possession.
