The world rotated again on its axis as it's so
fond of doing.
The sun shone warm and bright but was
swallowed at last by the night.
A boy in a mans body said "tomorrow" and
life left him behind.
The buses all put-putted around in circles.
One passenger saw only the smiling dead
bouncing along, not comforted at all in
knowing it was all in his head.
Some guy stood admiring a collection of
flowers, trying to pick the very best one.
But before he could decide the season
changed and they all withered and died.
A strangely comforting voice came from
another world and said only this:
"I am never lost, I am only seeing places I
have not seen before."
Someone had an orgasm in their sleep and
wondered if this was how immaculate
conception took place.
Someone had a dream of the future while
awake but laid it to rest and went back to
sleep after seeing what was in the mail.
Someone decided finally that his heart had
done him wrong once too often and resolved
to beat it brutally to death.
Someone laughed at himself and felt a
moment of relief.
Someone received a call from a close friend
that was far away and knew that the night
would turn again.
