We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.

A Dublin man who is representing Ireland in bodybuilding has pleaded guilty to possession of an assault rifle and drugs.

Brian Hickey (aged 28) of Palmerstown Woods, Palmerstown pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possession of an AKM assault rifle and a quantity of cannabis for sale or supply at Wheatfield Drive, Clondalkin on September 3, 2008.

Defence counsel, Mr Shane Costelloe BL, said his client has no previous convictions and applied for him to be remanded on bail so he can represent Ireland in an upcoming competition in June.

Judge Katherine Delahunt granted the application and will hear the case at the end of June.

Do you know how much cannabis was seized?

Searching for an article i read that named the amount (not huge but not insignificant.)

If I cant find it feel free to remove the article,I wont protest.

No, there is no need to remove the article. I was just curious as to how much was the guy busted with since it didn't mention it in that article. Has Ireland been cracking down on cannabis lately? I am not that familiar with their drug policy.

Operation Vacuum is still ongoing I think, its been targeting grow ops since at least 2008.I could post scores of seizures here but they are from up to 2 years ago and I believe they would'nt be appreciated here, this is for current news yeah?Or is it also an archive?
The Irish law is quite strict on Cannabis,I dont think I can link to Wikipedia from here though.

There have been considerable seizures so either people arent paying electricity bills, people are talking (most likely, terrible here for that) or the Gardaí have somehow suddenly attained double digit IQs.
