Barbados police charge two Florida men in big drug bust
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados - Two Florida men have been charged in connection with one of the biggest drug busts in Barbados' history.
Police say Terry Moore and Joshua Walker will appear in court tomorrow. Their hometowns in Florida were not immediately released.
Moore and Walker are accused of trying to import 135 pounds of cocaine valued at 921-thousand dollars.
The pair have been charged with possession and intent to supply, traffic and import the drugs. They were arrested Friday in Barbados after police received a tip.
Authorities say the drugs and 15-thousand dollars in cash were on the men's boat, as well as two high-powered guns and several rounds of ammunition. Police say Moore also had more than 27-thousand dollars on him.
The men are being held in police custody. They will be formally charged at tomorrow's court hearing, when bail will be set.
