1. Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.

MILWAUKEE (WISN/CNN) -- A Wisconsin man who admitted to shooting his son said he was fed up with his son's addiction to heroin. Richard Matte told police he just wanted to scare his 27-year-old son, Zak, by shooting at a wall. “I shot my son in the arm on accident," Matte told a 911 dispatcher last month. Greenfield police arrested Matte after that blunt phone call. Matte told the dispatcher he was at his wit's end over his son's heroin abuse and snapped. "The bullet went through my...

ok I am quitting heroin but I mess around once in awhile. I don't need help thru withdrawals or nothing. Pretty strong will. But I was wondering if I had gone thru withdrawals and it's been 8 days since last used if I smoked like one little hit would it throw me back thru withdrawals bad or would it not do much at all? Just curious as to what everyone else has experienced.
  3. Philip Seymour Hoffman Died 3 Years Ago Today, and the US Heroin Epidemic Continues

Three years ago today, the general American public woke up to the heroin crisis surrounding them. That was the day Philip Seymour Hoffman died. On Feb. 2, 2014, playwright David Katz found the actor in his Manhattan apartment with a syringe in his left arm and eyeglasses on his head. When police arrived, they discovered 50 envelopes filled with what looked like heroin, as well as other empty bags, used syringes and prescription drugs. An autopsy later confirmed Hoffman died of an acute...
  4. Insidious

The hardest thing last time I did my rattle was that I genuinely missed the ritual of injecting. Putting everything in the pan, cooking it up, drawing it into the barrel. Then putting the tourniquet on, finding a nice vein and breaking the skin, pulling back on the plunger hoping you're in and you register blood, then... pushing down on it, slowly. Nothing but the sound of your breathing and the beat of your heart. And it hits you, the warm haze wrapping itself around, that sickly sweet...
  5. Opiates of my world: An brief insight into my use of opiates

Here is a diary entry my best friend sent to me. It reads: I am a single male, 27 years of age born in the great year of 87' from London, United Kingdom. The lover I refer to is not a woman, but of course alkaloids of all forms derived from the mystical opium poppy! In my early teenage years, I always had a fascination with drugs and pharmacology. The first and earliest exposure to the knowledge of psychoactive drugs being in existence was of course alcohol and tobacco. By the time...
  6. BUSTED. Be Cool and Pray, Part 1.

The taxi reached fulcrum point at the end of Main City Bridge. It's called fulcrum point because that's where everything tipped over. Here, a man in sunglasses was directing traffic. He directed the taxi into it's own special lane, whereupon big white jeeps maneuvered to box it in. A commotion of moustachioed men with the better grade of polyester shirt swarmed the car. The back doors flew open and three men seized Tractor Mike. They were screaming about a "Mr Ali." Mr Ali? What...
  7. Serendipitous Lessons from Psychedelic Side-Effects

When he first began gobbling down potent psychedelics, my pet chimp was immediately captivated by their potent capacity to subtly subvert his malleable social construction of reality with characteristic humor and elation. He'd been focused on sociology, cosmology (as an atheist and devout Dawkins disciple), and graphics design at the tail-end of high school - while maintaining a devoted relationship with getting himself blitzkrieg-ed drunk, white-knuckle cocaine high, or pin-point-pupil...
  8. SWIM's Story and Why Heroin Should Be Legal

SWIM's heroin story starts when he was a young child. SWIM has been moderately depressed ever since he become conscious, and severely depressed ever since adolesence. SWIM has tried all kinds of alternative and over the counter remedies, been to all kinds of doctors, and tried all kinds of RX meds for long periods of time. All of them just made SWIM feel sick, more depressed, or had some awful side effect worse than depression. To fill this hole in his life, SWIM started smoking marijuana in...
