Confiscated drugs worth Rs250m set on fire
Sindh Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department set drugs worth Rs250 million confiscated in various raids on fire at the Superhighway on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Sindh Minister for E&T, Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said the drugs were burnt after decisions of courts and fulfilling all legal formalities under the supervision of Senior Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate 6th Malir Karachi Muhammad Aslam Shiekh.
He said that a huge quantity of drugs including hashish, heroin, foreign and local liquor was burnt by the department in the tenure of the present government.
The minister said, “We all have to fight the menace of drugs in order to build a healthy society”.
Director General Excise and Taxation, Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui briefing about the drugs said that the drugs include 24,266 kg hashish, 105.456 kg heroin, 472 wine bottles, 748 pints foreign wine, 503 litre local wine, 780 bottles of Pakistani made foreign wine, 325 litres Kuppi wine, 100 crates of local wine and five kg Bhang.
