Cops: Two suspected of being under heroin influence, charged with carrying needles
Needles bring charges for 2 in Bayonne
Two men were arrested Friday in Bayonne and charged with carrying hypodermic needles while under the influence of suspected heroin, officials said.
At 1:47 p.m., cops spotted Philippe Yanni, of 32nd Street in Bayonne, with Patrick Arter, 46, of Sayreville, on 32nd Street. They recognized Arter as having outstanding arrest warrants, police said.
When Arter and Yanni were approached, officers believed the two to be under the influence of heroin due to their abnormally small pupils and sluggish behavior, said Police Lt. Janine Foye.
Arter was immediately placed under arrest because of outstanding warrants in Bayonne, Jersey City, Sayerville and North Bergen, Foye said.
He was also found to be possession of hypodermic needles, police said.
Yanni was also charged with being under the influence of suspected heroin and for possessing a hypodermic needle, police said.
