Davenport man sentenced in federal court to 27 years for crack cocaine
DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — A United States District Judge in Davenport has sentenced 22-year-old Stevie West to nearly three decades in federal prison for conspiracy to deliver crack cocaine.
The sentence handed down Friday was for 27 years.
Prosecutors say that in May of last year West was found in possession of nearly seven grams of crack cocaine. Following his arrest, West told law enforcement officers that he purchased for resale approximately 500 grams of crack cocaine from another man from January to May of 2008. West went on to take responsibility for an additional 170 grams of crack that he bought from other crack sources and then resold in the Davenport area.
