1. Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.

Do Drugs Show Up in Boxes, Labeled "Drugs," as Some US Political Activists Think?

[IMGL=white]https://drugs-forum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=50554&stc=1&d=1465237171[/IMGL]Paul Nehlen, House Speaker Paul Ryan’s Tea Party-backed opponent, has an interesting take on how drugs get into the country from Mexico: They are apparently walked across the border via the Rio Grande in a black box labeled “DRUGS.”

At least that’s what he is trying to prove in a new campaign spot posted on YouTube Monday. In what appears to be black Tupperware, with the word “DRUGS” written on it in all white letters, Nehlen wades through what is passed off to be the Rio Grande, the river separating the U.S. and Mexico. It’s impossible to tell if he actually traveled to the border to shoot the spot.

“Smuggling drugs into America shouldn’t be this easy — but it is,” Nehlen, who is running for Ryan’s Wisconsin sear, says as he carries the “DRUGS” box. “Cheap Mexican heroin is killing Americans in record numbers, and it’s got to stop.”

Nehlen’s simplification of how drugs are smuggled into the United States from Mexico is reminiscent of Republican front-runner Donald Trump’s generalization of Mexican immigrants as rapists, criminals, and drug dealers. Illegal narcotics usually don’t cross the border in boxes. Cartels use elaborate means, including tunnels and submarines, to get drugs into America.

It doesn’t appear as if Nehlen will bring his views on drug smuggling to D.C. One poll shows him trailing the House Speaker by 64 points.

I have made many political spots in my life. We've used pigs, horses asses and many other stupid props to demean the competition. One of our spots was even featured on "The Today Show" as the "Best of Worst" in political advertising feature.

This "Drugs Box" commercial is a classic. Wish I'd thought of it. Very funny.

A follow-up add depicting the dangers of illegals crossing into the US from the south could be a Middle-Eastern looking guy with a box that said "Nuke", wearing an ISIS tee-shirt.

The problem is obvious. With our current group of Presidential Candidates, apparently many are believing all the BS they are being fed. This "gag" spot from your article is NOT funny in that light. It is frightening, because they are being accepted by many as truth.
