Edmonton police investigate southwest garage explosion
EDMONTON — Two people face numerous charges in connection with a garage explosion in Edmonton’s Leger neighbourhood, police said Monday.
The investigation started after the fire department responded to a 911 call at about 9:30 Sunday night from neighbours of the Latta Court home, which is in a neighbourhood bounded by 23rd Avenue and Rabbit Hill Road. Police said in a news release that the garage door was blown off its hinges. The damaged door was later moved across the street.
No one was hurt in the explosion, but Det. Calvin Mah said there was evidence of hashish oil production at the house.
Police have charged a 31-year-old man and 20-year-old woman who own the home with mischief, possession of a controlled substance, producing a controlled substance, trafficking a controlled substance and possession of proceeds of crime.
