Effects on rat sexual behaviour of acute MDMA (ecstasy) alone or in combination with loud music.

So MDMA diminishes rat's libido and playing loud music increases, but doesn't restore it.

Must have been a weird scene to walk in on, bunch of scientists sitting around watching a tiny rat rave/orgy. Sexy!

does this add up to why people wanna fuck at a rave? so does it work for humans too?

Does the study distinguish between normal copulation and oral sex?

Rats engaging in oral sex, well that a new one for me. Must be some happy rats.

Haha. Makes those dudes wanna get down. I think that is really cool/strange that they actually studied this. Is there any info about what loud music does without the MDMA?

The article doesn't go into the reasons for a reduction in copulatory activity. It could be that MDMA makes rats less inclined to fuck (maybe making them prefer to cuddle) or if it just impairs their ability to get it up. Very different effects, but the same overall outcome.
