Girl Drugged and Raped at Party, Classmates Swarm Hashtag Set up to Mock Her

  1. Rob Cypher
Imagine finding out you’d been drugged and raped at a party by discovering footage of the attack online? The instead of supporting you, your peers set up a hashtag dedicated to mocking you by recreating the assault? This is what is happening to this Texas girl.

The 16-year-old, who told KHOU-TV she wanted to be identifed as Jada, said she was offered some punch by a teenage boy hosting a gathering at his house, which she drank. She now believes that punch was spiked.

After passing out, she recalls nothing of what happened afterward, but other teens shared evidence of the assault and began mocking her online.

“I had no control,” said Jada. “I didn’t tell anyone to take my clothes off and do what they did to me.”

Some even posted images of themselves lying splayed out on the ground alongside the hashtag “#jadapose.”

The alleged attack is apparently well-known in her peer group, yet no arrests have been made in connection with the case, which remains under investigation by Houston police.

“There’s no point in hiding,” she said. “Everybody has already seen my face and my body, but that’s not what I am and who I am.”

The girl said she’s angry, and so is her mother.

“No one’s daughter deserved this,” said Jada’s mother. “No human being deserved this.”

A teenage girl is drugged and raped and you teens are all laughing at it? What’s the joke? Because I don’t get it.

What the fuck is wrong with this world?? Why do people who rape and upload a video of the rape never get arrested?! I bet if they had little weed oj them they would have been arrested in a second, but the police doesn't give a shit about rape. Every single person who shared a video of her being raped should be in prison!! And they KNOW who shares it, it's on Twitter for fuck's sake!

    It's really quite unbelievable.
What sort of people are these? Are they the average young person now, or did a whole lot of sick psychopaths just happen to fall in together?
I can't believe that none of these people can really not see the problem with what happened and what they did.
    The world scares me sometimes.

    It's called "Genovese Syndrome."

Sad. Nothing really changes. In 1964, a young, 29-year-old girl named Kitty Genovese was raped and stabbed to death in broad daylight as what later was determined to be 38 witnesses stood by and watched and listened. No one called the police. Not one. Are we still that insensitive and uncaring a society that we lazily avoid getting involved in the misery of others? (http://learning.blogs.nytimes.com/2...nesses-do-nothing/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0).

It's very hard to believe that sometime not long after these obviously poorly raised teens handed this tape over to some adult(s) no one came forward to report the rape to the police. What was the first adult person who laid hands on this tape thinking, even if these kids lacking conscience didn't know better? Did they turn a blind eye and just think of the value of the ad-space they could sell when this poor kid's plight went viral?
