Heroin worth 500 000 euro seized by Bulgarian border police
Bulgarian customs authorities have seized heroin worth 500 000 euro on a train travelling from Istanbul to the Serbian capital Belgrade via Bulgaria, Bulgarian media reported on March 22 2010, citing reports from Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
The heroin was detected in a sleeping compartment under a false floor. Bulgarian customs police seized the drugs after conducting a "thorough" check on the carriage.
For the moment there is no information if the Bulgarian police acted on a tip-off. There is also no further information on the arrests.
