1. Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.
    PLEASE HELP

I hardly ever use my blog at all, and really try to avoid posting about relatively useless things such as this - But I figured I would make an exception to both of the above today.

As of today (the 21st), it's been 8 years since I joined the most awesome web site on the internet... Putting this in perspective, I've been coming here nearly every day for a fairly significant percentage of my life.

Minus a year's hiatus back in 2007-2008, my regular daily routine has pretty much remained static for years:

    6:00PM - Wake up
6:05PM - Log into DF... Check major moderation tasks
6:30PM - Take a shower, get ready for work
6:50PM - Get back on DF... Read new posts until time to leave for work
    7:30PM - Drive to work
7:50PM - Smoke a cigarette or two before work, while reading DF from cell
8:00PM - 5:15AM - Work until break - Spend break smoking and screwing around on DF on my phone (repeat 3 more times)
7:00AM - Get off work... drive home... change clothes, etc.
7:30AM - Unwind by doing some moderation tasks, maybe reply to some threads if I feel like it, etc...
    10:00AM - Go to sleep.

Breaking it down like this really makes it sound like I'm a total DF addict, and have no other life outside the forum (believe it or not, I do manage to get out and maintain a social life on my days off!) - But even though the forum isn't my life, it still remains a fairly significant part of my life and is something that I care very much about and will always be very important to me.

I know this isn't the most awesome blog post in the world... I mainly just wanted to say here's to 8 great years, with hopefully many more to come.

I was mod and then senior mod over a bluelight for total of 6 years so I know how you feel. Eventually I stepped down and now enjoy being apart of both that forum and this one but from a background perspective. No worrying about killing spambots and closing/merging threads, or handing out pointless infractions to someone who will just sign on with one of his other5 names and cause trouble.

It had it ups though for sure...people take your word more seriously because of your online position and friends are much easier to make :) Keep on doing a great job moddin man.
