Jamaican police find 80 lbs cocaine on cargo ship

Jamaican police say they have seized more than 80 pounds (36 kilograms) of cocaine concealed inside a cargo ship bound for Panama.Sgt. Jubert Llewellyn is a spokesman for Operation Kingfish, a task force formed in 2003 to combat Jamaica's drug trade.

Llewellyn says contraband enforcement agents found the drugs hidden in a shipping container aboard the M.V. Rothon at the Kingston wharves on Tuesday.
He says agents detained the German captain and the ship's crew of four Filipinos, but they have yet to be charged.
It was unclear in what country the boat is registered. It sailed from Georgetown, Guyana, and was scheduled to pick up containers in Jamaica before heading to Panama.

Hi Dutch-Marshal, I just moved several of the threads that you posted in the main Drug News forum into the subforums. Please look at the redirects for your threads on the main news forum so you will know which subforums they were moved to.

News about drug policy, how drugs influence politics, and how politics influence drug policy should be posted in the Politics subforum.

News about drug busts, bans, court cases, and law enforcement should be posted in the Justice & Law subforum.

News about drug research, treatment, and health issues should be posted in the Health subforum.

News about cultural and social issues related to drugs should be posted in the Culture subforum.

Note that there is some overlap between most of these areas. You will find that some articles fit in more than one category. Just use your best judgment and pick the one where you think the article fits best.

In general, very few articles should be posted in the main drug news forum. The ones that need to be in there usually fall under the "Trends" prefix.
