A popular herb that mimics the effects of marijuana will be banned in the city of La Crosse.
The city council passed a resolution Thursday night that outlaws synthetic marijuana commonly known as "K-2" or "spice."
Some city council members say the ban is a good thing because the packaged herbs can be more potent than marijuana and cause serious side effects.
But others believe it should be banned on either a state or federal level first.
La Crosse police are starting to see the bad effects the new drug can have. "We've had one reported case within the city of La Crosse where had a very adverse reaction. The female that took it passed out and she was taken to the hospital for treatment," says La Crosse Police Sergeant Kirk Flatten.
Side effects of K-2 include headaches, nausea and paranoia.

If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.
