In a heavy fog, one wheelchair driver went where he shouldn't have - on an on-ramp of the Marquette Interchange of Interstate 94.
Daniel Samplaski, 35, was arrested early Friday morning on drunken driving charges after traveling in his motorized scooter on the ramp in downtown Milwaukee.
Samplaski blew a .23, almost three times the state legal limit of .08, on a portable breath test, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department. He has four prior OWI convictions.
On video from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, Samplaski says he borrowed the wheelchair from a friend.
"There was no end. There was no end. I got on (the ramp) and I couldn't get off of it," Samplaski told police.
Samlpaski told officers that he had a past injury with a broken leg and that he got on the freeway, thinking it was a sidewalk.

Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.
