Man charged with smuggling cocaine in airport

ATLANTA (AP) - A Portuguese man faces federal drug charges after authorities at Atlanta's airport say they discovered 5 kilograms of cocaine hidden in plastic-wrapped magazine covers.
Paulo Jorge Dias Santos was arrested Saturday after arriving at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport from Argentina.

Authorities say they found the cocaine stuffed inside 11 magazine covers after an officer said they felt unusually heavy.

Authorities say Santos told them he flew from Portugal to Argentina to pick up the package, but that he didn't know it contained cocaine.

He said he was promised a new vehicle once he delivered the package to London.
