TOLD the 57 pink flower-shaped pills he bought “will be fun for your wife”, Scott Healy had a reason for feeling miffed after what he assumed to be potent Viagra erectile pills were found to be the drug MDMA.

Healy, 25, of Varsity Lakes on the Gold Coast, received a suspended 12-month jail sentence after pleading guilty in Lismore Local Court to possession of the drug at Banora Point on April 26 last year.

The pale pink pills were found after a car in which he was a passenger was stopped on the Pacific Highway for a police RBT.

After he began walking away he was placed in a police van.

Healy told police he paid $250 for the pills from a mate at a party in Mooball, south of Murwillum- bah, on Anzac Day. The mate told him: “These will be fun for your wife.”

The pills were found on the floor of the police van taking Healy to Tweed Heads police station. He admitted the pills had been in his jeans pocket, and that he had tried to throw them out of the van.

The Crown revealed Healy had an extensive criminal record in Queensland.

Defence barrister Megan Cusack said her client had thought the pills to be Viagra because they did not look like ecstasy.

“He thought they were somewhat dodgy and he thought Viagra and that it would assist his marital relations,” she said.

Ordering the sentence be suspended, Magistrate Robyn Denes warned Healy if he breached his bond he would be jailed.

Well at least we know that the Viagra defense won't work in Australia. Perhaps he didn't have the right lawyer...
