BOISE -- Prosecutors say a Sacramento, Calif. man has been sentenced to 15 months in federal prison after mailing 100 pounds on Psilocybin, more commonly referred to as psychedelic mushrooms, from California to Idaho.
U.S District Judge Edward J. Lodge also ordered Kenneth Nordeste, 46, to serve three years of supervised release after prison, perform 60 hours of community service and forfeit $9,000 to the U.S. government.
Nordeste pleaded guilty to distribution of controlled substances in May 2010.
In additions to sending multiple packages of mushrooms through the mail, prosecutors say Nordeste also delivered to an undercover officer in Sacramento additional psychedelic mushrooms, marijuana and methamphetamine.
