BP: Marijuana hidden inside moving boxes
Border Patrol agents told Action 4 News that they took more than 11,719 pounds of marijuana worth $9.3 million dollars off the streets.
An agency spokesperson said Border Patrol agents at the Falfurrias checkpoint seized the drugs in eight unrelated cases since Thursday.
The largets seizure took place early Saturday morning when an tanker truck drove up to the checkpoint.
Border Patrol agents allegedly found 366 bundles with 8,451 pounds of marijuana hidden inside the tanker.
Another 117 bundles with 2,972 pounds of marijuana were seized from inside moving boxes in the trailer of an 18-wheeler.
Border Patrol agents told Action 4 News that they turned over the cases to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
