1. Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.

    Mephedrone regulated as psychotropic substances
On August 2, 2010, the State Food and Drug Administration, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Health jointly issued an announcement, which requires that Mephedrone (4-methylmethcathinone) should be regulated as Category I psychotropic substances as of September 1, 2010 and no institutions or individuals may engage in the experimental research, production, distribution, use, storage, transportation, import/export of Mephedrone without approval.

Interesting find, but should probably be filed over in the News Forum.

Well, another product goes underground, quality becomes questionable, potential for harm increases, and another victory for the "War on Drugs".

Yeah, the "Drug News Forum: MUST READ BEFORE POSTING" thread says to put such an article in the relevant drug-specific forum and then report it for moving to the news section leaving a redirect here.

Yeah this was bad news.SWIM wishs she was consulting this forum sooner. SWIMS supplier just cut off on August 20 without warning.

This fish has heard rumors from the sea about Mephedrone being manufactured in other countries aside from China for some time. It would be safe to assume that some of the manufacturers will not give up on the money and move production elsewhere, while other manufactures will simply change to another substance as most have.

This is by no means an end to mephedrone, unless people just don't want it anymore by trying to get the next high.

4MMC has not been sold from China for awhile now, instead they sell 4MEC.

Got to love those Chinese drug laws! I bet they held out as long as possible knowing the imported wealth that mephedrone was bringing in. So now we are in the ephedrone era. Actually, N-ethyl amphetamines (at least) are far, far less toxic - it could be a good thing.
