Miramar man charged after 740 pounds of cocaine found on sailboat
Federal authorities have charged a Miramar man with possession of 740 pounds of cocaine that investigators say they found inside a secret compartment onboard a 32-foot sailboat.
Ronald Earl Landrum, 61, was arrested Saturday on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine. Charles Edward Norman, 59, of Rotunda West, also was arrested and faces the same charges as Landrum.
Both men have a pretrial detention hearing scheduled for Thursday at the federal courthouse in Fort Lauderdale.
