Missoula man pleads guilty to selling LSD, marijuana
A 30-year-old Missoula man pleaded guilty to federal drug charges Monday during a hearing in U.S. District Court, admitting that he sold LSD and hundreds of pounds of marijuana during a two-year period.
In February, Avery Klemp sold five pounds of pot and a vial of LSD to a source who was working with the Drug Enforcement Administration. A search warrant was executed on Klemp's home and agents recovered multiple pounds of marijuana, two additional vials of LSD and about $35,000.
Klemp was interviewed by law enforcement and said he sold between 570 and 1,100 pounds of marijuana from October 2007 through the date of his arrest.
He faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and could be sentenced to 40 years, a $2 million fine and at least four years of supervised release.
