LAREDO, TX. - With value of 5.5 million dollars in the black market, a shipment of 3.1 tons of marijuana was seized at the checkpoint to Hebbronville.
In rural 1017 road, Border Patrol agents stopped a Peterbilt white truck that was pulling a container used to transport building materials and residue extracted from oil and gas wells that are in the region.
A 32-year-old U.S. citizen drove the 2002 model truck, resident of Rio Grande City.
In a second review, a K9 alerted something strange inside the container. A total of 307 packages of marijuana were taken from the trailer, giving a net weight of 6,894.5 pounds of marijuana.
