NBA Star Lamar Odom Is Addicted to Crack, May Be on 3-Day Drug Binge

  1. Rob Cypher
TMZ has quite the report on professional basketball player Lamar Odom, who is the husband to Khloe Kardashian and the uncle to North West. According to the report, Odom recently relapsed and began smoking crack cocaine again after nearly a year of sobriety, causing Kardashian to kick him out of their home after he rejected an intervention. Odom has been not been seen since, and family members are worried he may be on a 72-hour drug binge.

Of course, Radar Online is reporting that Odom's drug of choice is not crack cocaine, but instead OxyContin and Ambien, so feel free to take both reports with a grain of salt. But there is some consistency between the reports: Both state that Odom went to rehab last August for three weeks after he'd battled addiction issues for at least two years.

Kardashian is reportedly seeking a divorce from Odom, though for now Odom's health seems to be the priority. “Khloe is more concerned about saving Lamar than ending her marriage,” on source told TMZ.

If the reports are true, they might explain why Odom attacked paparazzi photographing him in July.

    Lamar Odom Reportedly Enters Rehab

Lamar Odom has reportedly checked himself into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, less than a week after his arrest for allegedly driving under the influence.

The NBA free agent and "Khloe & Lamar" star was arrested Friday at 3:54 a.m. after being stopped in Los Angeles on U.S. Route 101 showing "objective signs of intoxications," according to California Highway Patrol.

Odom, 33, was also unable to perform a field sobriety test, police said. He has not entered a plea and was released on $15,000 bond.

He has not responded to ABC News' requests for comment.

Odom is married to "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star Khloé Kardashian Odom, 29, and their relationship has been front-page news as of late, fueled by the former L.A. Laker's alleged drug use.

Two days after the DUI charge, Odom's wife posted a message on Twitter, saying, "As much as I wish I were made of steel ... I'm not."

Odom has a history of drug use. He violated the NBA drug policy twice in 2001 and then admitted to marijuana use in 2003.

Odom, a two-time NBA champion and former Sixth Man of the Year Award winner, is unsigned but had been drawing interest from the Lakers, as well as the L.A. Clippers, where he finished last season.

I hate how the troubles of a man that is famous has to be news to us all. Let the poor bastard do what he wants. Get clean, stay high, or a little of both...I don't care. I just feel bad that he has to deal with the whole world knowing. It is bad enough when your friends and family know, but now a bunch of strangers. Poor bastard.

Lamar Odom: "I Don't Have A Crack Problem"

[IMGR="white"]http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34875&stc=1&d=1378889920[/IMGR] Lamar Odom says he's absolutely NOT a drug addict ... doesn't need professional help ... and is confident he'll play in the NBA next season.

He's wrong on all 3 counts.

33-year-old Odom went to Teru Sushi in Studio City last night ... and after taking some photos with fans, he finally addressed the media about drug issues in his life ... claiming everything is hunky-dory.

Problem is ... Odom is clearly in denial. As we've previously reported, just about everyone in his life -- personally and professionally -- knows about his battle with substance abuse, including his wife Khloe Kardashian.

In the last year alone, Lamar's been thrown out of hotels ... busted for DUI ... spent time in rehab ... and dropped from multiple NBA teams.

Still, Lamar insists ... "Life is good."

[IMGR="white"]http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34876&stc=1&d=1378890496[/IMGR] Ominous sign for Lamar Odom's battle with drug addiction -- he scooped up a household cleaning product that doubles as a vital part of homemade crack pipes ... and TMZ has the photos.

Lamar and his driver walked out of a San Fernando Valley pharmacy on Tuesday with a bag full of items ... most conspicuously ... Chore Boy copper scrubbing pads.

How commonly are the pads used for drug abuse? Type it into Google ... and "crack" is the first auto-fill topic besides the product name. Also, Forbes magazine wrote an article about its use as a filter in makeshift crack pipes.

Oh, and Urban Dictionary defines it like this:
According to the photo agency that snapped the pics ... Lamar made the conspicuous purchase shortly after meeting Khloe Kardashian's assistant to pick up some clothes. We're told the pharmacy is near the house where he used to live with Khloe.

As TMZ first told you, multiple people in Lamar's life -- like his estranged wife -- are saying he desperately needs to get in to rehab for many addictions, especially crack.

LAMAR ODOM'S 'Roommate' Says ... I SAW HIM DO CRACK

[IMGR="white"]http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=34877&stc=1&d=1378890914[/IMGR]The lawyer who lived with Lamar Odom for 6 weeks in June and July tells TMZ ... Lamar was doing crack in her apartment.

Polina Polonsky is a criminal defense lawyer who met Lamar in the Spring at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. She told us on TMZ Live ... he was smoking crack and doing other drugs while he stayed with her ... but she says things really spun out-of-control when he moved out.

Polina tells us Lamar became paranoid while he lived with her ... taking the battery out of his phone because he felt he was being followed with the aid of a GPS device. He also covered the smoke detectors with paper towels.

Polina says Khloe Kardashian came banging on the door in July, barged in, took charge and took Lamar out. She received a text from Lamar shortly after he left, calling her a "groupie, junkie ... crack head." She says she knows it wasn't Lamar who sent the text ... it was Khloe.

Report: Lamar Odom’s crack dealer stopped supplying him drugs

Lamar Odom’s alleged crack cocaine addiction has become so severe that his own drug dealer has stopped supplying him with drugs, TMZ reports.

TMZ sources claim people close to the dealer said Odom kept calling “incessantly” demanding more crack cocaine. The dealer allegedly got “scared” and decided to stop dealing the drug to Odom.

Odom’s alleged drug addiction has had its share of conflicting reports and unexpected turns. According to a People.com report, Odom checked out of a rehabilitation center in Los Angeles after just spending one day there. TMZ refuted the claim that Odom checked into rehab at all.

According to Odom’s drug dealer, Odom purchased $16,000 worth of cocaine while Odom was in New York in February. Odom was arrested on charges of driving under the influence in Los Angeles in August shortly after his agent refuted reports surfaced that Odom went missing.

Odom, 33, spent last season with the Los Angeles Clippers where he averaged four points and 5.8 rebounds while playing limited minutes in all 82 games.
