Over 7 tons of drugs seized in Kyrgyzstan in 2009
Over 7 tons of various drugs were seized in Kyrgyzstan in 10 months of 2009, including 313 kg of heroin, 382 kg of opium, 655 kg of hashish and other, the local police officials reported.
In 2009 joint efforts of the Internal Affairs Ministry, State Customs Service, Special Services, Prosecutor’s office and the now abolished Drug Enforcement Agency resulted into significant success of drug prevention operations in the country.
Last year the amount of drugs seized in Kyrgyzstan was twice smaller.
