Overflowing Cannabis Flowerbeds Acidentally Planted in Kazakh Capital

Members of the council in the Kazakh capital are literally scratching their heads in disbelief after discovering flowerbeds, comprised of crops of cannabis plants, have been sprouting up around the city centre. Local people in Astana City noticed that there was an unusual aroma when walking down a particular street in the district. After altering the authorities, they found thousands of marijuana plants flourishing in the flower beds that line the road.

The city council have now launched an investigation and are still unaware as to whether the planting of the drug was a simple mistake or a deliberate act of guerrilla gardening.

“I was walking down the street when I saw these cute plants at the junction of Auezova Street and Dzhangeldina Street,” Mihal Malorod, a resident who first noticed the plants, said. “What a nice little flowerbed, I thought.”

Another resident, Marat Asymbaev, added: “What if that was the idea of the police? What if they wanted to catch all the junkies in our city?”

A spokesman for Zelenstroy, an urban gardening service who are contracted by the council to maintain the city’s flowerbeds, said that they are running their own internal investigation.

“If they are marijuana plants we will remove them immediately,” he said.

Standing tall amid 1,200 kilometres of grassland, Astana was described by CNN a few years back as one of the weirdest cities in the world. We reckon this latest piece of news probably makes that official!

The story comes just days after a pizzeria owner sprinkled a form of marijuana, called Mr Nice Guy, instead of oregano on the pizza of two police officers. The customers suffered dizzy spells and vomiting after unknowingly consuming the synthetic cannabis after the meal in Israel.

“I knew the pizza was for the cops but the guy I spoke to sounded cool on the phone,” the man told police.

“He told me to put whatever I wanted on it. So, instead of oregano, I sprinkled Nice Guy.”

Needless to say, Israeli police are now trying to shut the place down.

Are they sure that this plant is Cannabis and not a look-alike, taxonomically unrelated plant?

I don't wanna be that guy...but I will. They should just let it grow! It would be so immensely pleasurable to walk down the street or anywhere for that matter and see that cheeba just growing. It'd be complete garbage to smoke, but the aroma would be pleasing and there's also the aesthetic value of a decent looking bud regardless of the THC content.

in Kazachstan it's not a big wonder to me someone had the idea to sow cannabis. It's a country where cannabis is widely used since - ever..
In parts of the country one can find good potent crop in the wild.

    nice idea.
Sadly German tokers don't get their arses off their sofas for that kind of flowerbedism.

This is cannabis, if I ever saw any.
