Pakistani Couple Arrested For Smuggling Ketamine
NILAI, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- The Customs Department today arrested a Pakistani couple following the discovery of 1.7kgs of ketamine hidden in the frame of a jewellery display case during a raid on a house in Taman Sri Gombak, Batu Caves, Selangor, Tuesday.
Customs deputy director-general (Enforcement) Datuk Md Hassim Pardi said in the 12.15pm raid, the couple, in their 30s, were nabbed after they received a parcel from Mumbai, India through courier service.
"The parcel contained five jewellery display cases. Upon inspection we found white powder believed to be ketamine hidden in the display frames," he told a news conference here Wednesday.
He said the drugs weighed about 1.7 kg and had an estimated value of RM35,320.
