Pastor Accused of Being a Major Drug Dealer; Hid Drugs Inside the Walls of His Church

You don’t expect to hear this regularly, but it did happen.

A pastor in Kentucky is accused of running the largest pill trafficking organization in the state. Neighbors are shocked to find out that the preacher wasn’t as much into praising God as he was into selling dope.

“I was shocked, because I live right here and I never see anyone go in or out of there,” said Mike Newsome, a neighbor of Scott Gilliam, who is accused of running the ring. “I did know some of the people that went to church there. They’d stop and talk to me. They were all nice folks.”

Gilliam was the pastor at Holiness Tabernacle Church in Olive Hill. He was arrested this week, along with Brian Logan and charged with a conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.

“Tens of thousands of pills that have a street value of $40 to $45 each. So you’re talking [a] multimillion dollar trafficking organization,” said one of the officers in the case.

Another neighbor told News Channel 3 that the pastor was respected throughout the community.

“Nobody would ever dreamed this,” the neighbor said. “It’s just unbelievable, completely.”

“[He] pastored a church while he was engaging in a major drug trafficking organization [which] is pretty heinous,” the lead detective said.

Police say that the pastor hid the drugs inside the wall of a room that looked like a playroom for children.

“Large quantity of pain pills. Oxycodone 30-milligram tablets from inside the church,” the lead detective said. “It was a room that was located toward the rear of the church that was like a children’s playroom. Pills were concealed inside the wall.”

A church would actually seem like the perfect front for a drug operation,
Pretty crazy, i'd be shocked to hear that if it was a local chuurch of mine

Still less morally taxing than child molestation allegations. I would say the church is moving in a positive direction!

Always interesting to read news report "headlines".
Pastor accused of DRUG DEALING PILLS.

    I rarely read headlines like....

CEO of Merck (pharmaceutical company), caught in the CRIMINAL back to sell their "norco™" pills, rather than improving their Pain medication in a way that's effective, but Not as addictive.
Because of MERK™ distribution of the narcotics addictive nature, the men, women & family's loose the ability to get adequate pain relief.

Merck, when questioned about their addictive drugs that had no true pain relief for many, but makes a wonderful life demolishing feature that leads many to suicide or other illegal actions.

Sorry if off topic a bit, however very true..torn

Or perhaps it is just branching out ; )

I am surprised by this story to be honest. Many think the child molestation is something to do with the celibacy and sexual perversions of the christian religion.

But this is just a plain crook.
