1. Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.

Philip Seymour Hoffman just got out of detox for a drug problem that was spinning out of control ... a problem he desperately wanted to nip in the bud ... and he's already back doing a movie.

Hoffman -- who struggled with substance abuse in the past but kicked the habit for 23 years -- fell off the wagon more than a year ago. He tells TMZ it started slowly with prescription pills, and recently escalated to snorting heroin.

Hoffman -- who won a Best Actor Oscar in 2006 for "Capote" -- tells us the heroin use only lasted a week or so and he quickly realized he needed help, so he checked himself into a detox facility on the East Coast.

He says he was at the facility for 10 days and checked out last Friday. Hoffman credits what he calls "a great group of friends and family" for helping him seek the treatment he needed to get better.

And at least for now, it seems it worked, because Hoffman is clean and back on a movie set in Europe.

I can totally relate to how this guy might of felt and how his life was. With the stress and energy it took to be a actor i would easily understand why he would use drugs to get through each day. There is allot of people who are celebs and have Substance abuse problems that are not even noticed or widely known... The first people i think of our Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain and of course Justin Beiber "who is still alive and young"... They are still all celebrities and they are names almost everyone knows. Many of them keep it under the rug and secret... Some of them openly admit it and will talk about it openly...

I try to put myself in their shoes, I am just trying to picture myself in Philip Seymour Hoffman shoes. I picture myself doing passionate acting and being able to portray a excellent character under the influence of these chemicals. I can picture him in movies in my mind and see his movements, his eyes, and his looks and sometimes i would swear that his acting was so good that it was almost real... Specially if he portrayed a angry or disturbed person. He was a good actor and it is a disappointment that he died.
