Regular marijuana usage robs men of sexual highs

Stoners may be trading sexual highs for the chemical kind. Males who smoke marijuana daily are four times more likely to have trouble reaching orgasm than men who don't inhale, finds a new study of 8,656 Aussies.
Other smokers had the opposite problem, experiencing premature ejaculation at nearly three times the rate of non-smokers, find a team led by Marion Pitts at La Trobe University in Melbourne.
Her team analysed data collected as part of a 2005 telephone survey of 16 to 64-year-olds. Overall, 8.7 per cent of respondents said they had gotten high in the last year, with twice as many men (11.2 per cent) admitting to marijuana use as women (6.1 per cent). People under 36 were more likely to smoke marijuana than older participants.
Even though many male smokers experienced sexual problems, they reported more partners than non-smokers. Marijuana users were twice as likely to have had two or more sex partners in the previous year than men who didn't smoke pot.

    Smoking in bed
Pitts' team found an even stronger trend for increased sexual activity among female smokers, who were also seven times more likely to have been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection in the last year than non-smokers. However, female smokers had no more problems in the bedroom than abstainers, Pitts' team found.
Her team's results generally back up prior studies connecting increased promiscuity and sexual problems to marijuana use.
For instance, a 2007 study led by Marie Eloi-Stiven at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York found that marijuana users were far more likely than others to take sildenafil (Viagra) recreationally. This is presumably to counteract the perceived libido-sapping effects of marijuana, her team concluded.

    Complicating factors
However, the new study doesn't establish a cause-effect relationship between marijuana and sexual performance, notes Sharon Johnson, an epidemiologist at the University of Missouri St. Louis, who has also found associations between drug use and sexual problems.
Many of the correlations between marijuana and sexual performance became apparent only after accounting for other factors, such as age, tobacco and alcohol use and occupation. "Why does it appear that the more marijuana you use the more sex difficulties you have," Johnson asks. "There is a more complicated relationship out there somewhere."

Ha! The article itself inadvertently admits that marijuana smokers last longer in bed. SWIM would take delayed ejaculation over premature ejaculation any day of the week.
  2. cannabis-sam
Yeah for SWIM sex/masturbation stoned is hell of a lot better, he lasts longer and the orgasms are more intense, maybe it's not the same for everyone but SWIM loves it.
  3. EscapeDummy
Swim thought marijuana makes everyone's orgasm better when high???? Wtf?
  4. guldenat
Swim finds this as well. He found that marijuana was a good remedy for the inability to achieve orgasm due to SSRI... now he gets the best of both worlds of delayed ejaculation and the heightened sensation marijuana provides. Intense stuff, good times.

I love how they claim that taking longer to reach orgasm for a man is a problem!

Fact of life: Men can come in zero seconds flat if they are too "sprung", so something that allows them to go for long enough to ensure that they aren't selfish is hardly a problem now, is it?

Oh, who do they think they are fooling with that whole "chicks who smoke dope are disease ridden whores"? Carefully worded within this "scientific" research.

Heyyyyy, wait a minute, I think they might be trying to paint dope smokers in a bad light. Surely not! They couldn't possibly have an ulterior motive for this style of statistical research.

Remember now there are three types of Lie:
    Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics.

Interesting claim to make of a plant that potentiates sexual sensation more than just about any other. But if there is one statistic that is believable, it's that the lie that is often the most believable is the exact opposite of the truth. "Operation Iraqi Freedom" indeed.

lol I think it's funny how you can increase promiscuity and sexual 'problems' at the same time. What is the correct amount of time for a man to come anyways? lol

If regular marijuana usage robs men of sexual highs, are they saying, buy some decent chronic instead of Mexican weed?

A bong and a bit of a wrestling match on a sofa with a willing women would not delay Swim.

Women should be empowered if they make a man not last that long.

Just as long as battle commences again and the first campaign of the evening is not the last!

They will be telling us weed shrinks your manhood next!

Ahhh shit, i just came :(

They've already told us that weed is responsible for giving men Moobs (Man Boobs).

Well, when I say that they have told us, I mean that they have thrown the statement in with an article about overweight men who get moobs. It's all down to the evil weed apparently. No explanation, just accept it as fact and stfu.

There might be lots of correlation, but smoking pot isn't necessarily the cause.

Women who have sex a lot, for example... (this is all speculation) They're likely to be more liberal in the first place and so be fine with smoking. That's completely different from saying that women who smoke then want to have sex with lots of different people due to the effects of cannabis.

I'm not saying the above report claimed that, but they didn't seem to make it clear that is wasn't the case either.
