Schenectady police call heroin bust largest in city's history
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- It's being called the largest heroin seizure in the history of Schenectady.
Police have seized weapons and 4,342 8-ounce packets of heroin from a Norwood Avenue home.
The drugs have a street value of $85,000.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the bust. They are 41-year-old Jorge Rivera, 24-year-old Timothy Colon and 18-year-old Rafael Gonzalez, all of Schenectady, and 23-year-old Minks An Jean Francois of Albany.
Police say they have made several drug arrests recently with people carrying the heroin, marked with the street name "Kiss of Death."
comment: the numbers don't add up in this one. They indicate 4,342 8oz pkgs which equals 2,171 lbs - just over a ton (or just under a metric ton) 85 grand for a ton of heroin? No idea at this point which numbers they botched...
