Man remanded in custody after Carlisle police seize heroin valued at £50,000
A man appeared in court today following a police operation in Carlisle that led to the seizure of heroin with a street value of £50,000.
Gary Andrew Duncanson, 46, of Irton Place, Morton, appeared before magistrates after police carried out one of the biggest drug busts in the city in recent years.
Heroin was seized in Botcherby on Friday night in an operation run by the force’s serious and organised crime squad and Carlisle’s drugs unit.
Duncanson appeared at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with possession with intent to supply heroin.
He was not asked to enter a plea and was remanded in custody.
The case was adjourned until December 7 when it will be heard at Carlisle Crown Court.
