Slovak officials arrest Dutch man with enough chemicals to produce 1 million ecstasy

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia — A Slovak customs official says authorities have detained a Dutch national in possession of enough chemicals to produce up to one million ecstasy pills.

Miroslava Slemenska, a spokeswoman for Slovakia's Customs Administration, said on Thursday that the man was arrested Oct. 15 at Bratislava's international airport in possession of 200 kilograms (440 pounds) of chemicals that can be used to produce the drug.

She said the chemicals were found in four barrels placed in the man's car and were enough to produce up to one million ecstasy pills with a street value of up to €10 million ($14 million).

Slemenska said customs officials delayed announcement of the arrest pending full investigation.

Not worth even close to that figure. Do they think this guy is going to go round selling a million pills for a tenner each?

Obviously someone producing such a vast quantity of pills isn't going to be the same person who sells them individually at a club.
The man in question wouldn't earn anywhere remotely near even 500,000 euros for his work.

However, while swim is not an expert on the street price of ecstasy pills in Slovakia, he would guess they'd be considerably more than in the UK.
