1. Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.

Two weeks from graduation an Effingham county senior could end up wearing a prison jumpsuit instead of a cap and gown.

Zackary lowe is facing charges, including possession of marijuana on school property.

Five South Effingham High School students went to the hospital claiming Lowe gave them brownies laced with marijuana.

Lowe was caught by deputies with pot and alcohol on campus.

They say it’s a tough lesson for a 17 year old to learn.

“It doesn’t matter how much marijuana you have,“ explains David Ehsanipoor of the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department. “If you are caught with even a small amount which would be a misdemeanor, on school grounds it’s a felony. Just a little bit of marijuana is a felony. This kid found that out the hard way. He is in jail at 17 years old and facing felony drug charges.“

Lowe’s charges are not connected to the marijuana brownies yet.

He is just considered a “person of interest” in that part of the case, as investigators gather more details.

Wow. I can't believe they are going to ruin this kids life (or next 7 years till he can expunge his record) over some marijuana. I know just how hard it is for a felon to get work just about anywhere. I'd be highly surprised if he actually went to prison over it, more then likely just get probation.

If he goes to prison, they have just turned a drug user into a drug dealer.

    Kid does something stupid...HEADLINE NEWS

No, really, wtf? If this kid really ends up with a felony charge, then we need to rethink the humanity of our legal system.

I would really like to see how many looking to charge him did something massively stupid, probably felonies, when they were 15-19.

The thought of doing this to a 17 year old kid over a bit of weed really sickens me..

Why dont they go after some real criminals rather than picking on marijuana users.
