BRADENTON -- Sheriff's detectives have seized 5,531 packages of synthetic marijuana weighing 179 pounds with a retail value of $65,500 from two Shell Station convenience stores in Bradenton.
The Manatee Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Division executed search warrants Thursday at two gas stations/convenience stores, the sheriff's office stated in a press release Friday.
The search warrants were obtained as a result of undercover purchases of synthetic marijuana -- spice or K2 -- at the two Shell stations at 5303 14th St. W. and 5704 14th St. W. Both stores are owned by the same person, according to the release.
Detectives also seized several computers and documents in connection with the sale of synthetic marijuana. No arrests had been made as of Friday morning, but the investigation is continuing.
The Sheriff’s Office has sent three letters to Manatee area businesses since 2010 outlining the laws regarding the sale of synthetic marijuana, it stated.
