Two Canadians are in custody in Detroit on suspicion of trying to cross the border in a truck filled with Ecstasy pills.
U.S. customs officers said they seized nearly 600,000 of the pills from a tractor-trailer that was heading across the Ambassador Bridge. The bridge connects Detroit with Windsor, Ontario.
Customs official Ron Smith said the two suspects claimed to be hauling an empty truck and said they had nothing to declare.The pills were found in the truck's sleeper compartment during a secondary inspection, along with about eight pounds of marijuana, officials said.
The suspects, aged 26 and 32, are Toronto residents originally from India
