Bid to smuggle in 26kg of drugs foiled
FUJAIRAH - The Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Fujairah Police Department arrested an Arab national and thwarted an attempt to smuggle 25kg of hashish and 1kg of heroin into the country.
Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim, Director of Fujairah Police, said it was the second biggest drugs haul in the emirate in a month.
He said the seizure was made following a tip-off by an undercover agent, about a man in his 30s planning to enter the country with drugs. A trap was laid after gathering the details about his movement and the suspect was arrested with the contraband in his possession.
During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. He was referred to the Public Prosecution for further action.

Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 4 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.
