using fake money to buy fake drugs

A man was been arrested after police said he used counterfeit money to purchase fake OxyContin pills from an undercover officer. Unicoi County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 21-year-old man on Tuesday and charged him with criminal conspiracy with schedule II drugs, forgery and criminal simulation.

Investigator Frank Rogers said the officer met with several people at a mobile home park and arranged for the suspect and another man to come to Unicoi to buy 76 OxyContin pills for $4,875.

Officers said it was "obviously bad money" with some bills printed on just one side.

Authorities also tracked down the device believed used to make the counterfeit money.

The Johnson City Press reported officers expect to make more arrests in the case.

  4. Pickpoke
yeah seems extremly high..that would be almost $65 per pill, and i don't know anyone who would pay that price especially if thier getting quanity like that

^ like i said cuz the "money" he had didnt cost him anything and he just wanted to get high.
  6. beentheredonethatagain
well it has costed him now more than he wanted to pay for a high that he still is only dreaming about.

I guess all is fair in Love and Drugs, not that I support what happened.

I doubt he was doing this seriously. He probably knew it was a setup and used fake money as a joke not realizing he'd get busted for forgery or "criminal simulation", which I think is the most ridiculous crime I've ever heard of before. Why the hell isn't that cop getting prosecuted for forgery? he did make fake OC's.
  8. beentheredonethatagain
you think that he knew it was a bust and decided to play along just for the kicks? if so he deserves to get a little time to dry out.

and I don't think the cop made the fake oc, they could have used the real pills and busted him, either way it is a crime, conspiracy.

always got to watch for tricks by LE and users/sellers.

To me it seems that he would have known that there was no way a transaction would occur if he tried to use money only printed on one side. This man was either really desperate, or the money was just a prop to try and attain the pills by violence (or both).

In my area 80mg oxys go for quite a bit more then that!

Squirrell has a friend who was going to Reading but realised he had no money, and so decided to double-side photocopy £20 notes in a newsagents!! 20p a copy! He just used it to buy drugs, and said it worked but was a bit sketchy at times. I'm surprised he didn't get the crap kicked into him...

as for the price, it's a little high, but not anything unheard of. But buying 76 pills probably isn't going strait to the dome, and can't see much money being made. but they could have been 160's. That would be a nice little deal.

This isn't that bad of idea though. Print some fake bills, maby a couple real ones on the top and bottom, and just drop that guy's number. But fake money's just ruining the economy even more. in all seriousness, DON'T PRINT MORE MONEY!

4 the quantity of money involved, the price is absolutely ridiculous, even for OC 160s (didnt think they were re-introduced by the pharmaceutical companies yet). SWIM could get percocet (oxy/tylenol) 5mgs for the same price per milligram without buying in bulk.

Its pretty fuckd up they set the guy up like that, he could have just been lookin to stock up for personal use. But SWIM isn't surprised considering he heard about some1 with 9 OC's getting 9 years in prison.
