I have an online friend in another drug forum that has shared many of the same struggles getting and staying clean that I have. He had 7+ months yesterday, but posted that he thought he was going to relapse; that he needed to get high.

He was found dead in bed by his mother this morning . . . FUCK!

Sometimes this stuff is just hard to take.

So sorry to hear about your friend. When I read this it made me cry - don't know why. Sometimes we are ineffective and helpless ~ no matter what we say or do ~ especially when it comes to addiction & recovery. You can only take responsibility for yourself - no blame.

My brother died of cancer at age thirty - he never did drugs and was gifted athlete and musician. I had a wonderful friend ~ spent Saturday afternoon with him at a plant show in the park. On Saturday night he was in his backyard watering some of his large hanging Epiphylum plants - guess the ladder broke. When he did not show up for work on Monday ~ a policewomen found his body in his garden.

When your time is up - your time is up. There is nothing that can be done to change this.

Practice kindness and compassion. Be grateful for every moment, thankful for every experience and proud of all you actions. Life is short ~ be happy.

Hope this wasn't too bleeding heart - mushy.
Just had write something - hopefully, slightly comforting.
    Love, JB

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a friend. This comes at an odd time for me because my best friend's husband just died today. They had a perfect love, one we could only dream of. I am so sad. They were together 30 years and worshipped each other. Always cherish your friends and family for you do not know what tomorrow brings.
