With 2014 only days old, and New Year's resolutions gnawing at the back of our minds, I have decided to help my best friend come up with a few new ways to save bud, money, and most importantly, hassle.
We live in a non-medical state, so access to concentrates, edibles, and otherwise affordable means of medication are more or less non-existent. My very good friend is a daily toker and despite having no real disorder, seems unable to make it a single day without marijuana
. Problem is, she's already bled dry by her boyfriend and living situation.
In the interest of full disclosure, I must state that all of this information is second hand, and for the benefit of my friend. I, personally, do not partake because I actually am physically disabled, and prison would not be very kind to me...
Enter the plan:
1. buy a quarter of medical grade marijuana
2. qwiso 3.5 grams (one pass),
3. let both concentrate and waste dry for 24 hrs
4. use dried qwiso waste for 10 ml propylene glycol extraction over low heat
5. smoke .5 g while you wait.
You should end up with*:
-3 grams marijuana
-1-2 grams hash
(depending on wash time and quality of bud)
-10 ml mild-moderate THC
*without getting into prices, I will simply state that this seems
to be cost effective and more efficient than bud alone.
My friend told me that she'll be trying this tonight, and should have results by Saturday evening/Sunday morning. I'll be sure to post her findings in a timely manner.
The only question that my friend would like to ask concerns the hash extraction method. Do you prefer dry strained hash (frozen and crumbled) or qwiso? Which typically yields more in small batches?
