Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 3 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.
Thanks ..The reason I'm asking is that my son was accused of trying to flush crack cocaine down a toilet and the police said they couldn't scoop it out because it had dissolved and the water was crystallized. This all happened within seconds i just wanted to know if my son had thrown multiple pieces of crack cocaine in the toilet would it dissolve and if so how long would it take.
Thank you for your help
Swim doesnt think it would dissolve, although he has never tried putting some in water. His friend told him that he can put crack in his lip (like you would with dip) and it wont dissolve, so he wouldnt think it would dissolve (much less immediately like the police said) upon contact with water. It was more likely a rock of regular powder cocaine if it dissolved immediately.
It is my understanding that the end result does not justify the effort involved.
Apparently it dissolves then solidifies, dissolves, then solidifes.
If I had injected the slop, w I would be very worried about the rapid red swelling and tingling forearm that would probably be taking place..
Honestly, who doesn't like smoking crack? Why mess with perfection?
There are endless very good reasons to stay clear of it but when the smoke from that first hit shoots out the nostrils, reasoning and judgement leave the room. Quickly.
Freebase cocaine would take a long time, possibly many hours to dissolve in water. I do not know the exact solubility ratio, but it is poor at best. I have personally kept crack rocks in my mouth for long periods of time with no noticeable loss in weight. Powder cocaine hcl though is easily soluble in water, and would dissolve very quickly in a large amount of water.
In order to make crack soluble in water an acid such as citric, acetic, or hydrochloric must be used in order to convert the freebase cocaine into a water soluble salt.
If a person dumped a bunch of crack rocks into a toilet they would just float( maybe they would sink to the bottom I'm not sure) there and not dissolve. You would have a toilet with freebase cocaine floating in it.
