is looking for some advice on how to take his Tramadol
. He's got an idea he wants to pass by his fellow SWIMmers.
Right now, it's taking a full 500mg for the Tramadol to help SWIM. The problem is this amount is over his daily total, and the effects last about 4-6 hours. So now the meds have worn off, but SWIM's head hurts, and wants it to stop. Obviously SWIM shouldn't re-dose today, so it seems like he's screwed.
So SWIM is trying to find a better dosing schedule for himself, to achieve maximum duration of pain relief. He's thinking maybe if he takes a medium size dose at first sign of pain, and then increase it every 30 min. by 100 mg until he receives adequate relief (or hits his limit) might extend the length of the pain relief. Start off with a dose of 300mg, and take another 100 30 min. later, and repeat once more.
The problem is, SWIM doesn't get any effects from anything less than 500mg at once. He doesn't want to waste meds by not taking enough, so he's reluctant to try this, but he needs to find a solution.
Any comments on this? SWIM could really use the help here.
