Hey all, this is probably mostly a question for the guys, but if any women out there have some input on the matter I would love to hear your thoughts as well.
It is not my question, however, but my dog Sparky's. Here's what he has to say:
"First of all, I would like to start by saying when I do almost any drug
that decreases my sensitivity, masturbating or having sex feels largely the same no matter what drug I'm on. By that, I mean I don't notice any significant differences in how I feel when trying to get off on GHB
, or cocaine
. Not that those are the only drugs
that make you less sensitive, but those are mostly the ones I have experience with. Of course the highs themselves are very different, but in terms of getting off they all produce the same generally desensitizing effect on me. I find it no easier or more difficult to get and maintain an erection or ultimately achieve orgasm on any one of the desensitizing drugs over another.
I have read somewhere (I can't remember where) that really pushing and overexerting yourself during masturbation or sex can cause you to lose your erection. While I hadn't thought about it before I came across that fact, it makes sense as I assume this is because the blood starts really pumping all over and your pressure goes haywire, ultimately messing with your hard-on. I don't know if this is a possible occurrence for anyone with a penis, or if some people are more predisposed to this under exertion than others. I do know I have experienced this many times. I normally don't do any drug that decreases my sensitivity if I'm planning on having sex with my partner because it almost never works, but I have masturbated plenty of times after taking GHB, opiates, or cocaine. (But not at the same time!!
Yikes.) These times, it normally takes me 1.5-2 hours or longer to achieve orgasm, and it takes a lot of fervent jerking off.
The longer I go, the more urgent it gets... as per usual. The first hour is generally relaxed, but after that hour mark everything kicks up a little bit. When I'm sober, I tend to have masturbation "quickies" since I'm a college student who has a roommate with an unpredictable schedule and rarely spend more than 30 minutes jerking off. I mention that because if I'm high, even making it to an hour is already about twice as long as I usually go alone. Unsurprisingly, as I start to work harder, I start to sweat and breathe hard. My whole body usually gets very tense. Once I get to a certain point of overheating, heavy breathing and so much tension I'm proverbially ready to snap, I lose my erection and have to take a minute, get a drink, and let my system calm down.
Let's just say when I'm high on a drug that decreases my feeling, it takes a lot of "bells and whistles" to get off. A few different movies on the screen, some sexy music, the "good lube," etc. It's a real production
. And I don't know about you, but I am not a quitter. Once it's been an hour, I'm going to finish one way or another or die trying.
My determined attitude to have an orgasm after this point then starts conflicting with my physical capability of actually maintaining my hard-on. It begins to be a stop-and-go process, but not by choice. Five minutes of urgent, hard, fast, sloppy jerking and five minutes of catching my breath and letting my BP drop so I can actually get an erection again. As soon as I DO get hard again and go back at it, it feels great, but when I start to lose it I just feel less and less good. My actual arousal level stays the same, but sometimes it's a useless battle with a flaccid penis no matter how turned on you are.
I'm getting to my point. Sometimes, when I am fighting to keep it up and using every arousing resource available to me so I can cum, I reach a point where I realize if I keep going hard I will be able to have an orgasm shortly, no matter what my body decides it wants to do about it. At this point, I start going as "all-out" as I can until I do finally ejaculate. Because of the erection/no erection dilemma, this has lead to more than a few times that I've ejaculated while almost completely flaccid. In addition, on one or two occasions, I've also ejaculated before achieving the physical feeling of orgasm, making the actual orgasm itself last approximately .67 seconds. Those times were all of the mess and none of the fun.
So, my question is, have any of you guys ever experienced this or something like it? Or have any of the women who tend to have male partners experienced this with them? I don't think there's much that can be done about it other than taking some Viagra, but I can't do that because I have a headache condition and ED medication can cause headaches. All I can say is thank god weed
doesn't do this to me, or I'd be cooked.
EDIT: I want to add that when I'm sober, I have no sort of issue with getting/maintaining an erection. This only occurs when I've taken desensitizing drugs."
He'd love to hear from anyone about thoughts, experiences, or any general musings about the matter.
