Dear Drugs-Forum readers: We are a small non-profit that runs one of the most read drug information & addiction help websites in the world. We serve over 3 million readers per month, and have costs like all popular websites: servers, hosting, licenses and software. To protect our independence we do not run ads. We take no government funds. We run on donations which average $25. If everyone reading this would donate $5 then this fund raiser would be done in an hour. If Drugs-Forum is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online another year by donating whatever you can today. Donations are currently not sufficient to pay our bills and keep the site up. Your help is most welcome. Thank you.
I've noted that 5-APB is more and more encountered at various suppliers and this forum doesn't have a drug info thread for this chemical, so please post information about 5-APB here.
Can anyone add information about:
names / synonyms
duration side effects
have there been any reported incidents with this compound?
since when has this research chemical been available?
stability of the molecule / compound
Experiences with 5-APB should be discussed here: 5-APB Experiences
Names: 5-(2-aminopropyl)benzofuran or 1-benzofuran-5-ylpropan-2-amine CAS Number: 286834-80-8 Formula: C11H13NO Mol. Mass: 175.23 g/mol First repors: report to EMCDDA at december 2010
According to wikipedia: 5-APB is a drug claimed to act as an agonist of the 5-HT2C receptor, which has been sold as a designer drug since 2010. Anecdotal reports from users suggest it has stimulant and empathogenic effects, but less psychedelic action than related compounds such as 6-APB and 5-APDB. According to ecstasydata: Marquis and Mecke tests are purple. Possible forms: It comes in succinate and hydrochloride forms, with claims from vendors that hydrochloride should be around 30% stronger/more effective than succinate.
Google Trends page, showing that the most interest towards compound come from uk.
These are the doses for HCL. Quoting several people from other websites:
I found 110mg (of 5-APB) to be quite strong, probably a touch more potent than 150mg of 6-APB.
150 initial dose of 6 (6-APB) compared to 70 of 5 (5-APB).
even 70 was a bit much.
a dose being about 70-75% of the equivalent dose of 6-APB
5-apb is 30% stronger than 6-apb.
EFFECTS (gathered from experience reports)
Strongly increased tactile sensations
Increased appreciation of music
Pleasant body high Euphoria
Desire to talk tbc
SIDE EFFECTS (gathered from experience reports)
Sleep deprivation (less than with 6-APB)
Overstimulation (high doses)
Strong pupil dilation
Increased heart rate tbc
SYNERGY WITH 6-APB
Mixing both substances are widely reported and people claim that 5-APB gives a kick and more energy to the 6-APB effects, making it more acceptable for public use and clubs. Lot of vendors also sell premixed pills with proportions of 6 partsof 6-APB and 5 parts of 5-APB, yet there are several claims that mix where proportions are 1:1, or even with more of 5-APB is more pleasant and has less body load. It's commonly agreed that mix of the substances is better than each substance alone.
COMPARISON TO 6-APB
More energy, more tactile sensations, less euphoria, less visuals. Not as lazy and chilly as 6-APB.
INSUFFLATION Insufflation is reported as a working ROA, yet the doses were not specified.
