First post so I'll ask the thing that is most important to my friend for him when he is smoking the blends. Music appreciation. Whether any of the many blends out there can compare to 'the real thing' he does not know but would appreciate your/people you know's comments on the matter.
He has tried a good few but there also plenty of newer ones he hasn't.
What would your friends pick to be the best, obviously these will vary greatly on the person but a general feel would be interesting.
My boy says that Spice Gold when first starting out on the legals was the best, probably changed since then in terms of ingredients...
He has tried Yucatan, Spice Gold, Ex-Ses, Magic Silver, Neder Gold, PEP Spice...
While SWIM finds that he can enjoy some blends as much as cannabis for their own individual strengths, music appreciation is a department where good cannabis seems to hold a strong lead. All of the blends enhance music to some degree for SWIM, but in most cases this is to a very small degree (with the Spice range for example, music enhancement barely registers under normal circumstances for SWIM). Most blends enhance music in the same way as cannabis (albeit to a lesser degree); notes and melodies seem more profound and deep, and the musical experience becomes more encapsulating and diverts more attention. Lying down with his eyes closed, SWIM find that the maximum increase in music appreciation can be reached because more attention can be given to the music, which then seems to influence the body high (doing this is one of SWIM's favourite activities after smoking the blends, and this actually seems to apply more to the blends than it does to cannabis for SWIM). For SWIM, Magic Silver has music enhancement closes to that given with cannabis, and perhaps Yucatan Fire would come second because it provides a good euphoria that goes hand in hand with music (this blend might be better than Magic Silver for listening to music in a more social setting).
A couple of exceptions to what I said above are "Aroma" and "Kronic" incense, released by the same company with Aroma hitting the market first. SWIM tried Aroma soon after it came out, and although he was later put off by the short duration of the high and lack of substance that it seemed to have there was a very strong music appreciation present even when other effects where mild. To SWIM it was very similar to music appreciation given by cannabis, but different in that it was less mesmerising and relaxing than cannabis (minus these effects the music appreciation is stronger than with Magic silver). More recently, SWIM tried "Kronic", which in many ways was an extension of Aroma. Here the music appreciation was still strong, but more at the same time more noticeably different from that of cannabis. The blend caused excitement and stimulation, and the music appreciation it gave could be described in the same way; almost "rushy". It wasn't the type of high that SWIM usually goes for, but it made an for an interesting change and a new experience.
Swim agrees with honourableone's comments regarding Magic Silver. Swim often smokes silver before going to bed and will usually attempt to listen to some music for an hour or so, but usually finds his enjoyment is somewhat offset with a general kind of lethargy and eventually will give up (even if he's not technically sleepy).
During the day he typically uses much lower doses of MS (eaten) and his music appreciation is less enhanced, but so is the lethargy.
However over the previous weekend he combined MS with several kratom samples and found the mix intensely pleasurable and might repeat this with slightly lower doses and focus on music in the near future.
Someone I know has bought Magic Silver a few times but finds it turns into a headache after a little while and doesn't seem to last that long. Seems to be a good blend and one of the more popular ones on here. Is Magic Gold worth trying he wonders
Right, so he tried Smoke Plus and thought it was best avoided. Effects no better than other blends for him plus does really burn the throat, no an enjoyable one at all.
Buddha was the other one he went for, quite uplifting, didnt seem to last that long. Decent but nothing special, was on offer which swayed the vote.
Now the choice is between Diamond Spirit, Tropical Synergy, Genie and Afghan Black has cropped up with good reviews and comes in a smaller sample so maybe that and Genie or Synergy...he likes the longer lasting effects like the early days of spice gold so a bit stuck!
Swim has made his own hash, and would like to compare it to the legal equivelent. Or perhaps make a blend of the 2?
Swim recomends genie, although its nothing special, far more sensible to stick with a legal smoke swiy knows will do the trick as swim and his friends have been pretty hit and miss with it.
The initial buzz is nice, but it has quite harsh smoke as its very "twiggy" for lack of a better word. Yucatan is the only blend swim has found that genuinely tastes awful, but still does an amazing job. Although a few drops of Tasty Puff normally sort it out
Swim agree's, Smoke is a horrible blend, way overpriced for what one gets from it.
