Loperamide Gone Wrong (Possible Journal) - Part 57

  1. Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for your input. I was planning on doing a 30 day taper, to be done by the end of this month or the beginning of Feb. What exactly does passion flower do for withdrawals? I was planning on buying the
5-HTP and i know for sure you're not supposed to use that in conjunction with St. Johns Wort.

I'm so happy to hear that you are clean off of everything. Is that including the Kratom? I know detoxing isn't gonna be easy but I have to do it. If not for anyone else but for ME. It's been long overdue.

I wasn't planning on using quinine for my detox because I heard it can cause RLS to be worse or withdrawals and I def don't need that. How are you?

It hasn't been easy but in the past week or two I have been able to drop my dosage from 120 pills all the way to 24. I hope the rest of my taper will be this easy.

    Love you all,

There is a huge relief when you kick loperamide. You can look forward to that. Out of all the opiates and opiate like drugs I have taken loperamide scared me the most. It is an experience that once you are done with it you never want to take it again. I resist taking it even as directed using other medicines instead. I will never forget what it was like to be addicted to loperamide and what withdrawal was like. I never made it past two days when trying to go cold turkey. It was that bad.

Passionflower extract works fast and it has inhibitory effects like GABA. I recommend extracts over the encapsulated forms. You can find extracts and capsule at places like Whole Foods. You can use 5-HTP in place of St. Johns Wort and it is okay to take 5-HTP with Passion Flower. Valerian is also useful and does not have any interactions with the above. Passion Flower taken three times a day is what I did, morning, noon and before bed. It will calm your nerves and help you sleep without making you drowsy. I actually prefer Passion Flower over benzodiazapines. You may not notice it at first if you are not experiencing moderate to severe anxiety as it is easier to tell it is working when your anxiety is high but still take it because the benefits are greater the more it is in your system. As far as side effects go I did not experience any unless I used too much which caused sedation. Extracts are somewhere between $10-$15 and about the same for capsules. Personally I used both but when I was tapering off loperamide I had only used the extract.
